What A Way To Be Starting The New Year

Ahh.  Here we are.  Quickly approaching the year 2011.  And already there is lots going on.  I woke up to a million phone calls and messages.  With not very good news from any of them.

I spent 8 hours on the phone today.  3 of them getting updates on Rusty's grandma's condition.  The other 5 trying to get ahold of someone in the Unemployment office.  I got an eligibilty review questionaire in the mail that I had to phone in the answers to.  Fine. Did that.  At the end of the call MARVIN was to say one of two things.  Of course I got the second response that told me that my benefits are being put on hold and to call the inquiry line to speak to an agent.  Phone calls began at noon when I finished the review process, went through every fifteen minutes for 5 hours!  Everytime I got the answering machine saying "You are calling during non business hours. Business hours are from 8 to 6 monday through friday."

Here is my question to the state.  IF BUSINESS HOURS ARE FROM 8 TO 6 MON THRU FRI, WHY IS THERE NOBODY IN THE OFFICE FROM 12-5 ON A THURSDAY?

I gave up at 5 and have to start calling at 8 AM tomorrow.  But since tomorrow is New Years Eve, There probably still wont be anyone in the office.  Great. Then I will have to wait until Monday.  Then I will get paid late.  And the bills I need to pay will be late.  Wonderful.

I really hope that this year gets better than it is starting off.
